Jeesh!

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to the lady at school (she came later in the year this year and I don't even really think I know her name) for telling me today that I'm BIG for 32 weeks!

(A co-worker, Barb, commented, "Wow, Stephanie, you're 32 weeks?" and that was this chick's response.)

Good thing I don't take it personally, though you might not know it since I'm complaining about it right now. So many things I WANTED to say but all I could muster was that I am so short/little that maybe it just seems that way. Thankfully Barb said, "NO, YOU AREN'T!"

And maybe I am, maybe I'm not--do you really say that to someone?????

Can you see a difference?

This post is for my sis, Bridgett. Enjoy :)

January 30...

March 30...

The dates were a coincidence. :) I haven't been anal about taking pictures every week or every month. It's just kind of been random. It's pretty crazy to see the difference in the pictures, though! WOW! I think I grew just over spring break, too. Where did the last 2 months, go, though, is what I'm wondering!?

Sneak Peek!

I can't believe Spring Break is over! Though I didn't go anywhere exciting, I had something planned EVERY day of break so of course it flew by! It was fun and I was able to take a nap just about every afternoon after my 'busy' day of going out to lunch, painting pottery, running errands, shopping, etc.

Here is the crib with the bedding all put together! The picture was taken with my phone and maybe that is why the coloring looks a little different. It is actually a really HOT pink. It looks kind of corral in the photo. Anyway, I love it! I was able to get to IKEA to get the bookcase I wanted and the dresser, which is partially put together. Travis worked on that yesterday a little bit and will probably finish tonight. :) I am super excited to be able to put things away and have the room ready. You know me---I'm quite the planner so hopefully everything will be ready before baby arrives. A co-worker's wife just had her baby about 3 weeks early, I think, so if that were to happen to me, then we have just a little over a month! Seems kind of crazy when you look at it that way! I doubt that will happen, but you just never know, right? I am looking forward to this Friday--Travis' office is throwing us a shower. As well, I can't wait for my Rushville shower! I'll post more pics when everything is put together!

32 Weeks

I went to the doctor today and everything is going well! I did ask my dr. about the fetal kick counts. She said that at really any given hour, I should be able to lay down on my side and feel 10 kicks/movements within that hour and if I'm not, don't hesitate to go into the hospital to Labor and Delivery and tell them I'm not feeling baby move and they'll hook me up to a monitor to check it out. So far, the movements are very random--so it freaks me out every time I try to do it! I feel her moving around all of the time but sometimes it takes the whole hour to feel her move 10 times, whereas other times, I might feel more like 20 movements in an hour! I have to fill this chart out for every day until my next appointment in 2 weeks, which helps track the movements and will help us notice if they decrease. I think that is great--and that my dr. encourages me to go into the hospital if I feel the need--and doesn't make me feel stupid! STILL though--it freaks me out! Say a prayer everything continues to go so smoothly with the pregnancy. I feel very lucky that I had no morning sickness and I can pretty much do anything I could before with ease. I am even still sleeping great!! (probably not a surprise if you know me and how I sleep!). I do get up once usually in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. I hope the delivery also goes so smoothly. My weight gain has evened itself off, as well. I had to hold my breath today when she ALMOST had to put the scale marker on 150 lbs!!! Whew--I'm not there yet but just about. :-) I weighed a whopping 148 today! I'm hoping and it's looking like I'll probably gain about 30-35 pounds when it's all over with. Well, I think! I can't remember what you are supposed to gain towards the end.

We also were able to sneak in for a quick ultrasound since the last time it was cut short due to my about passing out. The tech. said today that FOR SURE (though she pretty much said that last time) it's a girl! I guess when the kids ask (like they do EVERY DAY), I can say, "Yep, it's still a girl!"

I am also excited that I decided to stop by a little consignment shop here in town today (Cute as a Button) and found a crib mattress for $20--since I was on my way to Babies R Us to buy a new one! I came home and immediately cleaned it off (though it was pretty much spotless to begin with), washed the bedding and some of Baby C's clothes. I am hoping to get to IKEA this week with my friend Jena to buy a shelf I want and look for a dresser for the nursery. Travis and I decided he can probably use the old one we were going to paint AND putting together a dresser is a lot easier than sanding and painting the old one.

I'll hopefully have some updated pictures of the nursery with the bedding, etc. soon!

Shower Invitation

I also wanted to post this picture. Travis took the picture of me at about 24 weeks and my best friend Anne came up with the idea to spruce it up on http://www.picnik.com/ - a really fun site for editing photos (I used it for a project I did with my 5th graders a while back). She put all of the shower information on the back with fun paper and used it as the shower invitation!! So inventive, Anne! What a fun, inexpensive idea for an invitation. I think it would be cute in a frame, too and for sure in my scrapbook!

Extreme Makeover - BEFORE!

I am excited to say that Travis has the crib and changing table put together. Whohoo!! It looks great! I LOVE IT! I don't know what I'd do without him. I couldn't even figure out the 3 simple steps to putting the Diaper Genie together!!!!! And he had all of that done in no time!

Here are a few BEFORE pictures--don't you just love all of the random junk in the room, too? As you can see, we've got a ways to go, but it shouldn't be too hard. I pretty much have ideas in my head of where things will go and how I want everything arranged. Then I can finalize my ideas for some painting I'd like to do in the room. Since I doubt we'll decide on a name until she arrives, I might have to do some of the painting after if I do a monogram or something with the name. The top picks are still: Ava, Hazel, and now we've added Zoe to the mix. :) But you just NEVER KNOW!!!!!! We still have 69 days to go!

Isn't it pretty? Did I mention that I LOVE it?? I always wanted a sleigh bed and was thankful Babies R Us has a reasonably priced set compared to many I saw at other places! The only thing we might do is get our own little knobs to put on the corners. It came with some that look kind of like braided yarn (not sure how to describe) and I don't necessarily love them. I didn't notice them in the online picture apparently. And if we do decide to stick with them, it will all be fine!

Bloomington Baby Shower

My friends Kim, Jena and Sara threw my first shower for me last Saturday. It was held at the Broadview Mansion here in Normal and all of my "Bloomington" friends and co-workers were invited to this shower. I have another one coming up on April 11 in Rushville.

Jena made all of the food and her mom made the awesome cake and carved the watermelon. What a cute idea! The cake tasted as good as it looked, too. :) YUMMY!

I loved EVERYTHING at the shower. The decorations were so fun! I think every aspect was covered. Great food, Great friends and lots of GOODIES for Baby C. One of my favorite things was the book bin. Everyone was asked to bring a favorite book - new or used - and write a message inside to Baby C. It was fun to read all of the messages when I got home.

My friend Nanci MADE this blanket! It is so cute - pink on one side with a quilt pattern on the other side. It's even personalized - Baby Cunningham 2009.

I got a nice selection of things off the registries, as well as some other fun things, including the cutest clothes, of course!! Baby C. will definitely be fashionable!!!

My sister Tammy and niece Ella, as well as my good friend Casey came up Friday night to spend the night. Then Bridgett and the girls and my mom came up Saturday for the shower and then they all stayed all night at the Double Tree whirlpool suite. The girls had fun swimming! I went to hang out and then came back home to sleep in my own bed. Here are a few pictures of the girls at the shower, along with Shayna's daughter, Bella. Pretty soon there will be another girl to add to the mix! :)

Take one...

Take two...

I had a fun day and weekend. I can't say thanks enough to Kim, Jena and Sara for throwing such a wonderful shower for me and to everyone that came. I can't wait for our baby daughter to get here and now I am even more anxious!!

More pics...

Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah, and THANK YOU to Katie H. for taking all of the pictures!!! I can't wait to scrapbook!! :)

Size Matters

I am CRACKING up right now. Thanks to 'The Daily Kick' email I receive, I now have some great comebacks for all of those random comments people make about the belly bump. I am sure I am even guilty of making some stupid comments, but now that I'm pregnant, I'll know what to say to another pregnant person and WHAT NOT TO SAY! :)

Can you believe those people who make wildly inappropriate comments (you're so big! you're so small!) about your pregnant-person size? Neither can we. How rude! We polled our sassiest preggo-lady sources and got a few great comebacks. Next time, you'll be prepared!

You're so HUGE:
  • "Yeah, I'm actually a week late and my water could break at any minute -- stand back!"
  • "I know, I gotta start cutting back on the burgers and booze." (My Fave)
  • "I'll try to take that as a compliment."
  • "Yeah, but I'm going to lose 20 pounds in a day. What about you?" (2nd Fave)
  • "Well, ya know, I'm growing a life. What have you done today?"

You're so TINY!

  • "Doesn't feel that way to those of us looking down at the belly."
  • "I've decided to gain all of my pregnancy weight in my ass." (HILARIOUS!)
