I went to the doctor today and everything is going well! I did ask my dr. about the fetal kick counts. She said that at really any given hour, I should be able to lay down on my side and feel 10 kicks/movements within that hour and if I'm not, don't hesitate to go into the hospital to Labor and Delivery and tell them I'm not feeling baby move and they'll hook me up to a monitor to check it out. So far, the movements are very random--so it freaks me out every time I try to do it! I feel her moving around all of the time but sometimes it takes the whole hour to feel her move 10 times, whereas other times, I might feel more like 20 movements in an hour! I have to fill this chart out for every day until my next appointment in 2 weeks, which helps track the movements and will help us notice if they decrease. I think that is great--and that my dr. encourages me to go into the hospital if I feel the need--and doesn't make me feel stupid! STILL though--it freaks me out! Say a prayer everything continues to go so smoothly with the pregnancy. I feel very lucky that I had no morning sickness and I can pretty much do anything I could before with ease. I am even still sleeping great!! (probably not a surprise if you know me and how I sleep!). I do get up once usually in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. I hope the delivery also goes so smoothly. My weight gain has evened itself off, as well. I had to hold my breath today when she ALMOST had to put the scale marker on 150 lbs!!! Whew--I'm not there yet but just about. :-) I weighed a whopping 148 today! I'm hoping and it's looking like I'll probably gain about 30-35 pounds when it's all over with. Well, I think! I can't remember what you are supposed to gain towards the end.
We also were able to sneak in for a quick ultrasound since the last time it was cut short due to my about passing out. The tech. said today that FOR SURE (though she pretty much said that last time) it's a girl! I guess when the kids ask (like they do EVERY DAY), I can say, "Yep, it's still a girl!"
I am also excited that I decided to stop by a little consignment shop here in town today (Cute as a Button) and found a crib mattress for $20--since I was on my way to Babies R Us to buy a new one! I came home and immediately cleaned it off (though it was pretty much spotless to begin with), washed the bedding and some of Baby C's clothes. I am hoping to get to IKEA this week with my friend Jena to buy a shelf I want and look for a dresser for the nursery. Travis and I decided he can probably use the old one we were going to paint AND putting together a dresser is a lot easier than sanding and painting the old one.
I'll hopefully have some updated pictures of the nursery with the bedding, etc. soon!
